Apparently, one of the things I am best known for is my song “Nice One”. It was a regular staple of the Idiopathy set between 1997 and 2000, and seems to follow me around. I have tried not playing it at gigs but it always seems to get included. To my eternal shame, remains my most commercial offering to date. It was written the day after a Christmas party and, to my mind, incorporates some of the chords from McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmastime” with a clumsy Ringo Starr vibe but hey – the song’s my own. I play all instruments but Mike Kenton contributed the gorgeous thumping piano which gives the song its beat.
It’s presented here in its definitive recorded version, recorded between 1997 and 1999, with a video I made to test out a new webcam back in 2006. I wanted my face to appear as little as possible in the video. I might be miming a bit.
